Filling Station
Filling Station is Point of Sale → running at a fuel pump — a filling station is just another POS location, so checkout, tank stock, daily cash reconciliation, and restocking are the same POS features documented there. This page only covers what's different about selling fuel.
- Filling Station (which includes Point of Sale) isn't on the public price list — ask your service provider to add it to your subscription.
- Add your station in Settings → Company → Stores (the card may be called Branches & Properties) under the Filling Stations tab.
- Add your fuel as an Item of type Product with the unit set to exactly Litre or Litres, and restock the tank via an ordinary Purchase Invoice, the same as any other POS store.
Fractional litres and pay-by-amount
For a cart line whose item's unit is Litre/Litres, Checkout shows two linked fields instead of the usual whole-number quantity stepper:
- Quantity (litres) — enter a precise fractional amount, e.g.
45.32 - Amount — enter a target amount instead (e.g. "TZS 50,000 of diesel") and the litres are calculated back from it automatically, at the VAT-inclusive pump price
Both stay in sync as you edit either one — this matches how Tanzanian filling stations commonly sell, by a target spend rather than a round litre count. Every other product at the same till (e.g. bottled water) keeps the normal whole-unit stepper.
Filling Station dashboard
Point of Sale → Filling Station (or Fuel → Filling Station in the business-unit menu layout) needs the pos.reports.viewFinancials permission. It shows today's Litres Sold, Fuel Revenue, Pump Sales and Low/Out of Stock Tanks, a Tank Levels panel (litres on hand per fuel item and location), the most recent pump sales, and a 🧾 Go to Checkout button.
In the business-unit menu layout, the station's Checkout entry appears under Fuel automatically — see POS Profiles to change that.
Everything else is Point of Sale
- Tank stock — see POS Reports → Inventory, same as any store's stock-on-hand
- Restocking — an ordinary Purchase Invoice targeting the filling station
- Daily reconciliation — POS Reports → Reconciliation, same non-Cash tender reconciliation every POS store uses; cash reconciles at register close
- Receipts, register sessions, split payments — all identical to Point of Sale →
The + Adjust Stock form in POS Reports only accepts whole numbers, so a tank dip correction of part of a litre can't be entered there.
